1. Who I am
Studio Sharman is the trading name of Oliver Sharman, a sole trader registered in Italy (P.IVA IT05124480756) and based in Lecce, Italy. You can reach me at oliver@sharman.studio. Sections 1 to 3 cover your use of this website; sections 4 to 12 apply when you commission work from me.
2. This website
The content on this site is general information about my services. I keep it accurate and current, but I do not guarantee it is free of errors and I may change it, including prices, at any time. Prices shown are a guide; the price that applies to your engagement is the one confirmed in writing in your proposal.
Portfolio pieces labelled as samples or concept studies are built from published sources and do not imply a client relationship with the companies named.
3. Intellectual property on this site
Unless stated otherwise, the text, design and documents on this site belong to me. You may not reproduce them for commercial purposes without my written permission. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners.
4. Engagements
These terms apply to any case study production engagement unless we sign a separate agreement that says otherwise. Each engagement is confirmed in writing (a proposal or an email) setting out scope, price and timeline; that confirmation together with these terms forms our contract. My services are for business clients, not consumers.
5. Payment
Fees are fixed and agreed before work begins. They are payable half at kick-off and half on delivery of the final files; retainer engagements are billed monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days. The kick-off payment is not refundable once work has started. If an invoice is significantly overdue I may pause work and charge statutory late-payment interest.
6. What I need from you
Timely feedback, a named point of contact and reasonable help reaching your customer. Timelines assume normal approval speed; if your customer's legal team sets a slower pace, the timeline moves but the price does not change.
If a project stalls because I am waiting on you or your customer (an interview that cannot be booked, feedback or an approval that does not arrive), the delay is not my responsibility and the timeline extends with it. If an engagement is paused for more than 60 days for reasons on your side or your customer's, I may invoice for the work completed to that point. If it is still stalled after 120 days through no fault of mine, I may close the engagement and invoice the remaining balance in full; if you later want to finish the story, we agree a new timeline and nothing you have paid for is lost.
7. Revisions and approvals
Every case study includes two revision rounds with you and an approval round with your customer. Further rounds, or a change of scope after kick-off (a different customer, a different angle), are quoted separately before work continues.
8. Ownership of the work
Once the final invoice is paid, you own the finished deliverables: the case study text, the designed PDF and any Social Remix content. I keep ownership of my templates, processes and tools. Interview recordings and transcripts are working materials handled as described in the privacy policy; they are not deliverables unless we agree otherwise.
Unless you ask me not to in writing, I may name you as a client and show the finished work in my portfolio.
9. Confidentiality
I treat non-public information you share with me as confidential and use it only to deliver the work. I am happy to sign your NDA.
10. How I work with AI
AI assists my production process (transcription, research, project management). Every interview is run by me and every word is written by me.
11. Liability
My total liability for an engagement is capped at the fees you have paid for it. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Italian law, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence. The website itself is provided as is; I am not liable for decisions taken on the basis of its content.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lecce, Italy.
13. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when your engagement is confirmed is the one that applies to it.
