1. Who is responsible

Oliver Sharman, trading as Studio Sharman, based in Lecce, Italy (P.IVA IT05124480756), is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: oliver@sharman.studio.

2. What this site collects

Nothing directly. There are no forms, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the site sets no cookies beyond anything strictly technical the hosting platform needs. Two things happen in the background when you visit:

  • Hosting. The site is served by Netlify, a US company, whose servers keep standard access logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations. See Netlify's privacy policy.
  • Fonts. Pages load type from Adobe Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Adobe when a page loads. See Adobe's privacy policy.

3. If you email me

I process your name, email address and the content of your message in order to reply and follow up. The legal basis is taking steps before a contract (article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. I keep correspondence for as long as it stays commercially relevant.

4. If you book a call

Booking links on this site go to Calendly, a US company, which collects your name, email address and booking details under its own privacy notice. I receive the booking details in order to run the call.

5. If we work together

To deliver an engagement I process business contact details, project information and, at the centre of the service, recorded customer interviews and their transcripts. Interviews are recorded only with the participant's knowledge and consent. I use AI-assisted tools for transcription and research; recordings and transcripts are shared only with the service providers needed to deliver the work. Project materials are kept for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period afterwards; invoicing and tax records are kept for ten years, as Italian law requires.

The legal bases are performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting) and my legitimate interest in running the business.

6. International transfers

Some of the providers I use, such as Netlify, Adobe and Calendly, are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards EU law recognises, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email oliver@sharman.studio and I will respond within a month. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; in Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

8. No profiling

I make no automated decisions about you and run no profiling.

9. Changes

If my tools or processing change, I will update this page and revise the date at the top.
